Obverse description Crudely struck hammered billon flan bearing a two-line Arabic epigraphic legend in the field, reading 'al-Sultan al-A'zam / Taj al-Din Harb', conveying the royal titles and name of the issuing ruler. The lettering is rendered in an angular Kufic-influenced script typical of eastern Islamic provincial coinage of the 12th–13th centuries. The surfaces are heavily worn and porous, consistent with the low-silver billon alloy standard of Later Saffarid issues. No decorative border or marginal legend is discernible on this specimen.
