Obverse description A Rajput-style horseman depicted in profile facing left, seated upon a walking horse rendered in the traditional Indo-Muslim decorative manner. The rider's figure is rendered in a schematic, stylised fashion characteristic of the Ghaznavid-influenced jital coinage adopted by the Khwarazmian rulers. The name of the sultan's father, Tekish, appears in the field below the horse, serving as a dynastic attribution. The overall composition occupies the majority of the flan, with legends disposed around and beneath the equestrian motif.
