A circular legend surrounds the device, reading the titles of Étienne Baudinet as Échevin, Conseiller, Procureur du Roi, and Maire de Dijon. The rim is decorated with a beaded border.

Reverse description The personal arms of Étienne Baudinet are displayed on an oval shield surmounted by a mural crown, supported on either side by rearing unicorns, with elaborate mantling. Two stars appear in the upper field of the shield, with crossed diagonal charges and a small fleur-de-lis at the base. The date 1719 appears in the exergue, and the circular Latin motto legend runs along the upper rim within a beaded border.
