| Reverse description | The reverse displays the obverse of the host Zeeland Rijksdaalder of 1649, depicting a half-length armored figure of a knight facing right, holding a sword upright in the right hand and resting the left hand on a shield bearing the Zeeland arms (lion above waves). The surrounding Latin legend, partially legible, reads MO ARG PRO CON FOE BELG ZEL (Moneta Argentea Pro Confederatione Belgica Zelandiae), enclosed within a beaded border. The overall design is characteristic of the Dutch provincial rijksdaalder coinage of the mid-seventeenth century. |
