| Reverse description | Reverse of the host West Friesland Rijksdaalder, displaying a crowned heraldic lion rampant to the left within a shield, representing the arms of West Friesland. The lion is rendered in fine milled relief, surrounded by a beaded inner circle and the peripheral Latin legend reading 'CONCORDIA RES PARVAE CRESCUNT' (By concord, small things grow), the motto of the Dutch Republic. The date of the original Rijksdaalder issue is partially visible in the lower field. The surface may bear traces of the Russian countermarks applied to the obverse, with slight die pressure evident on the reverse field. |
