Obverse description A detailed relief view of the Neuchâtel municipal college building occupies the central field, depicted in three-quarter perspective with the engraver's name F. LANDRY inscribed below in the exergue. A circular legend arching around the upper portion names the institution and records its inauguration date, while the lower legend along the rim notes the laying of the first stone on 22 October 1866.
