Obverse description Full-length relief figure of a uniformed soldier striding forward, holding a flag staff in his raised left hand and a sword in his right hand, with a waving flag unfurling behind him. The large date 1848 is displayed in the field around the figure, and at his feet stands a milestone bearing a Swiss cross. A small signature inscription appears in the lower right field.
