To the left of the Virgin appears the letter K surmounted by three dots, and to the right the letter X surmounted by three dots, serving as control marks or imperial monogram elements within the field. The Virgin is depicted in maphorion with hands raised in the orant posture, the architectural citywall framing forming a decorative arc around the figure. |

The two co-emperors are depicted in imperial loros and crown, the entire scene rendered in the refined linear style characteristic of late Palaiologan court art. The composition emphasizes the divine sanction of the joint reign through the central blessing motif. |
