Reverse description The reverse displays a monogram cross formed by eight interlaced letter Ls arranged back-to-back in pairs, creating four arms, each surmounted by a royal crown. The mint mark appears at the center of the composition where the arms intersect. The circular legend CHRISTVS . REGNAT . VINCIT . ET . IMPERAT . runs around the periphery, invoking the sovereignty of Christ as King. The design is bold and heraldic in character, reflecting the devotional iconography common to French royal gold coinage of the period. A beaded border frames the entire reverse field.
