| Obverse description | Bare-headed left-facing bust of King Leopold III in high relief occupying most of the field. To the lower right, the royal crowned cypher 'LIII' is struck in the field. The medal suspends from an enamelled bow brooch in the Belgian national colors of black, yellow, and red, surmounted by a small royal crown. |
