| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare head of the nymph Aigiste facing right, rendered in profile with finely engraved wavy hair swept back from the brow and secured by a plain taenia or headband. The facial features are modeled in a restrained archaic-to-early-classical style characteristic of western Sicilian bronze coinage of the early fourth century BC. The neck is truncated cleanly at the base, and the field around the effigy is plain and uninscribed. |
