The portrait is positioned centrally on the flan within a broad, slightly irregular field.

背面描述	A hound stands in right profile, rendered in a lively naturalistic style characteristic of Sicilian bronze coinage of the early fourth century BC. The animal is depicted with slender legs, an upright head and alert posture, with a long curved tail drooping toward the ground line. Two pellets (dots) appear in the field — one to the upper left and one to the lower right of the hound — serving as value marks denoting the hexas (one-sixth of a litra, equal to two onkiai). The reverse field is otherwise plain.
