| Beschrijving keerzijde | Incuse square punch of irregular quadripartite design, characteristic of early Archaic Greek coinage, with deeply recessed compartments divided by raised ridges meeting at a central raised pellet. The incuse pattern is asymmetric, with the compartments showing varying depths produced by the hammering technique. The field surrounding the incuse is granular and uneven, consistent with hand-struck silver coinage of the late Archaic period. |

Kebren was a minor Troad city whose coinage output was small enough that individual dies can sometimes be traced across surviving specimens. The Lockett collection reference places this piece within one of the most carefully documented early dispersals of Troad material — the Lockett sale of 1955 remains a benchmark for this region's archaic and early classical issues.
