Obverse description Two crescents arranged back-to-back in the field, their open sides facing outward to left and right respectively, forming a symmetrical biconvex device. Four pellets are disposed around the central motif, one in each quadrant of the field. The design fills the flan with minimal border, consistent with the archaic schematic style typical of Tarentine small silver fractions.
