Reverse description Quadripartite incuse square punch divided into four recessed compartments by two intersecting raised ridges forming a cross, characteristic of early archaic Greek coinage technique. The incuse impression is deeply struck and roughly centred on the irregular flan, with each of the four sunken quadrants displaying an uneven, granular surface. No inscription or subsidiary device is present. This reverse type is consistent with the earliest phase of Athenian Wappenmünzen production.
