| Reverse description | Plain incuse square punch, divided into two unequal rectangular compartments by a raised diagonal bar, characteristic of the early incuse technique employed on Archaic Greek fractional silver coinage. The incuse is deeply impressed and slightly off-centre on the irregular flan, with no further design, legend, or subsidiary devices. This simple reverse type is consistent with the Thasian hemiobol series of the late Archaic period as catalogued in HGC 6. |
