| Beschrijving keerzijde | A stylized barley grain depicted in raised relief at center, oriented vertically with a prominent central ridge and flanking husks, set within a shallow circular incuse square. To the left of the grain appears the Greek letter Phi (Φ) and to the right the letter Alpha (Α), forming the civic abbreviation ΦΑ for Phanagoreia. The incuse technique and sparse design are characteristic of the small-denomination bronze and silver coinage of the Bosporan city-states during the fifth and fourth centuries BC. |
