| 背面描述 | Quadripartite incuse square divided by raised ridges into four equal rectangular compartments, each recessed, consistent with the early hammered coinage technique of Asia Minor. The incuse punch is deeply struck and displays the characteristic mill-sail or windmill pattern typical of Archaic Troadean civic coinage. |

Gargara was a minor Aeolian city on the southern slope of Mount Ida in the Troad, founded as a Lesbian colony and never politically significant enough to produce coinage in quantity. Its fractional silver issues from this period are among the scarcest of all Troadean emissions — the city itself was later synoikized into Alexandreia Troas by Antigonus around 306 BC, effectively ending its independent civic identity. Most surviving examples come from hoard contexts rather than casual finds, which suggests limited original circulation range.
