| Obverse description | Facing left, the draped bust of Persephone is depicted in fine Greek style, her hair wreathed with grain ears and bound with a decorated fillet, with a poppy head visible behind the head. She wears a pendant earring and a necklace, rendered with careful detail characteristic of Syracusan bronze coinage of the early Hieronian period.
