| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing left, the head of a local nymph rendered in fine archaic-to-classical transitional style, her hair elaborately dressed and secured by an ampyx across the forehead and a sphendone at the back. Six pellets are arranged in the left field before the face, serving as the value mark denoting the hemilitron denomination. The portrait displays the characteristic soft modeling and almond-shaped eye treatment associated with the celebrated Himera mint engravers of the late fifth century BC. The partial ethnic inscription 'IM E' appears in the field. |
