Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus facing three-quarters right, rendered in fine archaic to classical style, with flowing hair swept back beneath a wreath of laurel. The effigy is set upon the dorsal fin of a tunny fish (tuna) oriented to the right, a characteristic emblematic device of Kyzikene coinage. The modelling of the face is bold and naturalistic, with well-defined features typical of fifth-to-fourth century BCE Greek engraving. No legend or inscription appears in the field.
