Obverse description Facing right, the forepart of a griffin rendered in bold archaic relief, its characteristic pointed ear and curved beak clearly articulated against the plain electrum field. The design fills the flan with vigorous plasticity, consistent with early Phokaian electrum coinage. No legend or inscription is present, the griffin serving as the sole identifying device of this archaic issue.

Reverse description Rough, unworked incuse square occupying the full reverse field, produced by the punch used to drive the obverse die into the flan during striking. The surface within the incuse is irregular and granular in texture, exhibiting the characteristic unfinished appearance typical of the earliest electrum coinage of Ionia. No design, legend, or subsidiary device is present.
