正面描述 Facing frontal head of a lion or panther rendered in bold archaic relief, occupying nearly the entire flan. The feline visage is depicted with prominent rounded eyes, a broad flattened muzzle, and stylized curvilinear fur markings characteristic of early East Greek die-cutting conventions. The plasticity of the modelling, with deeply rendered orbital ridges and a strongly projecting brow, reflects the archaizing naturalism typical of uncertain Ionian electrum coinage of the late 7th to early 6th century BC. No legend or inscription is present in the field.

附加信息

Among the earliest coined money produced anywhere in the world, these fractional electrum pieces from western Anatolia predate the standardizing influence of Lydian royal issues and reflect a period when individual cities — or possibly wealthy merchants — were experimenting with the concept of guaranteed metal weight. The issuing authority behind this type remains genuinely unresolved; the Weidauer and Kayhan attributions place it within an Ionian context, but the absence of a civic badge or ethnic makes definitive attribution impossible with current evidence.
