| Descrição do anverso | Archaic facing head rendered in bold relief, depicted full-face with large, wide-open eyes, a broad flattened nose, and a prominent closed mouth with thick lips characteristic of the Archaic artistic style. The hair is rendered with incised, leaf-like or feathered striations radiating from the crown and falling to either side of the face, framing the visage. The facial features display the stiff frontality and stylized modeling typical of East Greek coinage of the early sixth century BC. The flan is convex and irregularly rounded, with no inscriptions or subsidiary devices in the field. |

Within the incuse, irregular raised ridges and rough striations are visible, the result of the primitive punching technique used in early Lydian and Ionian coinage. The incuse is rectilinear with slightly irregular edges, consistent with hand-struck archaic production. No symbols, letters, or additional devices appear within or outside the punch. |

Electrum coinage of this scale — fractions well under two grams — presents one of the genuinely unresolved problems in early numismatics: how these pieces functioned in daily exchange remains contested. At 1/12th of a stater, the denomination implies a sophisticated monetary system, yet the cities producing them left no written record of their monetary policy. The Weidauer reference places this piece among a cluster of similarly unattributed Ionian issues that scholars have been unable to assign to specific mints for over a century.
The electrum itself is naturally occurring Lydian alloy, drawn from the Pactolus river deposits.
