| Reverse description | A quadripartite incuse square dominates the entire reverse, divided into four recessed compartments by two perpendicular grooves meeting at the centre, creating a windmill or stepped pattern characteristic of early Greek hammered coinage. The incuse is deeply impressed and irregular in outline, reflecting the hand-struck nature of the flan. The surface texture within each quadrant is rough and granular, consistent with the archaic punch technique employed by Kyzikene die-cutters. No legend or subsidiary device is present, as is standard for electrum fractions of this series. |
