Obverse description Head of a roaring lion facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed mane radiating outward in bold strokes characteristic of archaic Greek die-cutting. The powerful musculature of the neck and the open jaws are rendered with expressive naturalism typical of early Lesbian electrum coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, consistent with hammered archaic technique. No legend or inscription appears in the field.
