Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Vespasian facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Caesarea Maritima mint. The effigy displays the emperor's distinctively broad, slightly fleshy facial features. The Greek legend encircles the bust, reading ΑΥΤΟΚΡ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ΟΥΕϹΠΑϹΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒΑ, translating as 'Emperor Caesar Vespasian Augustus'. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-hammered provincial silver coinage of the Flavian period.
