Reverse description The forepart of Pegasos, the winged horse, depicted in left-facing profile with wings prominently raised and folded in high relief. The forelegs are shown bent as if in mid-canter, and the muscular neck and head are rendered with vigor characteristic of Sicilian Greek coinage of the late fourth century BC. The design fills the flan compactly, with no exergual line or legend present. The field is otherwise plain.
