| 裏面の説明 | Head of Kallisto facing slightly left, depicted as a youthful female bust rendered in early classical style, her hair bound with a tainia (fillet). The portrait is set within a shallow incuse square, a technique typical of early Peloponnesian coinage. The inscription ΑΡΚΑΔΙΚΟΝ appears in Greek characters within the field, identifying the coin as a federally issued piece of the Arcadian League, with the lettering divided across the design. |

The Arcadian League's federal coinage emerged from a rare experiment in Greek interstate monetary cooperation, one of the earliest attempts to produce a unified currency across independent poleis. Tegea's participation was politically significant — the city had long been Sparta's closest ally in the Peloponnese, and its alignment with the League represented a meaningful, if cautious, repositioning during a period when Spartan dominance was being actively contested. The hemidrachm denomination suggests these were intended for real commerce rather than prestige issue.
Williams 220 is among the scarcer die pairings in the Confederate series.
