Reverse description Female head of Kallisto in right profile, rendered in the early classical style with a frontal eye set in profile, a convention transitional between the archaic and classical periods. The hair is bound at the nape with a taenia, drawn up and secured at the back of the head. A delicate necklace encircles the throat, adding an element of feminine adornment characteristic of Arcadian coinage. The portrait is finely engraved and occupies the majority of the reverse field.
