Reverse description Helmeted head of Athena in profile to the right, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, with fine engraving of the cheek-guard and bowl; the hair is rendered in rows of fine parallel lines curling beneath the helmet rim. The head is set within a large incuse square with a roughly recessed surface, as is typical of early Arkadian federal coinage. The legend ARKA (Α Ρ Κ Α) in Greek characters appears in the field around the head, identifying the issuing authority of the Arcadian League.
