Kaphyai, an Arcadian polis, issued coins under the Achaean League framework during the confederation's final decades — a period when the League was navigating increasingly hostile Roman oversight while nominally retaining autonomy. The terminal date of 146 BC is not approximate; it marks the year Corinth was razed and the League dissolved by Roman force, ending federal coinage in the Peloponnese entirely.
Kaphyai issues from this period are among the scarcer municipal contributions to the League series, reflecting the town's modest size relative to dominant members like Sikyon or Patrai.
