Obverse description Griffin seated to right in three-quarter view, rendered in archaic Greek style with prominent folded wings, leonine forepaws, and a serpentine tail curling beneath the body. The creature's beaked head faces right with alert expression. The design is enclosed within a beaded border occupying the full flan, with the griffin occupying the left field alongside a stylized ear of grain or stalk in the right field. The overall composition reflects strong Greek artistic influence adapted to a local Pontic coinage tradition.
