Obverse description Griffin seated right in profile, rendered in bold relief with detailed feathering across the folded wings and a strongly modeled leonine body. The creature's beak is open and the raised foreleg displays a characteristic curl at the paw. The field is flat and unadorned, with no legend or border, consistent with the archaic-to-classical Teian coinage tradition in which the griffin served as the city's primary civic emblem.
