No pellet is present to the right of the altar shaft, a distinguishing diagnostic feature of this subtype. The composition is austere and hieratic, reflecting the Zoroastrian religious symbolism central to Sasanian royal iconography. An inscription in Inscriptional Pahlavi appears in the field flanking the altar. |
