Obverse description Bearded male head facing right, identified as Ardakhshir I (Autophradates I), wearing a distinctive satrapal or royal headdress with a prominent crest and earflap rendered in low relief. The facial features are rendered in the Persian-Achaemenid artistic tradition, with a carefully delineated beard and strong profile. The flan is irregular and the die work is characteristic of early Persis coinage, struck in the hammered technique without a surrounding legend or border.
