| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bearded male bust in right profile, identified as Ardakhshir I, ruler of Persis, wearing a distinctive satrapal headdress or bashlyq. The portrait is rendered in a bold, schematic style characteristic of early Persis coinage, with strongly delineated facial features including a prominent nose, defined brow, and full beard. The effigy fills much of the flan, with minimal field visible around the bust. The artistic treatment reflects a blend of Achaemenid and early Hellenistic stylistic influences. |
