| Obverse description | Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine archaic-transitional Greek style with carefully engraved wavy locks of hair falling to the neck and a laurel wreath crowning the brow. The facial features are delicately modelled with a pronounced eye, a straight nose, and slightly parted lips characteristic of late Classical Sicilian or Aegean coinage. The portrait fills the flan with naturalistic detail, set against a plain field. |
