| Obverse description | Facing head of Helios, the sun god, rendered in fine three-quarter relief, with radiate hair swept back in characteristic windswept fashion emanating from the central part of the crown. The face is depicted frontally with finely modeled features, including almond-shaped eyes and slightly parted lips, reflecting the refined early Rhodian artistic style. The flan is irregular and slightly oval, typical of hand-struck silver coinage of this period. |
