Obverse description Head of the nymph Sinope facing slightly to the left, rendered in fine archaic-transitional Greek style. The hair is elaborately dressed, drawn back in wavy locks and bound with a taenia or diadem, with loose curls falling at the neck. The facial features are finely modelled with almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and subtly parted lips. The field is plain, with no surrounding legend.

Reverse description An eagle, wings spread and displayed, standing frontally with head turned to the right, perched upon a dolphin depicted horizontally across the field. The eagle's plumage is rendered with incised feather detail, and the composition conveys the civic emblems of Sinope — the eagle referencing Zeus and the dolphin the city's maritime identity. The Greek ethnic legend ΣΙΝΩ is inscribed in the lower field, divided by the central motif, with the letters flanking the design on either side.
