Ebusus — modern Ibiza — operated as a Carthaginian commercial outpost before passing under Roman influence, and its coinage reflects that transitional status more clearly than almost any other western Mediterranean mint. The island's silver issues circulated extensively across the Balearics and along the Iberian coast, turning up in hoards far outside any territory Ebusus formally controlled.

The GCV#12 attribution places this among the earlier emissions of the series, predating the bronze issues that eventually dominated local production as silver supplies thinned.
