| 正面描述 | Facing head of Hera, rendered in archaic Thessalian style, adorned with a stephane across the brow, pendant earrings, and a distinctive solid torc-like necklace encircling the neck. The frontal facing bust treatment is characteristic of Thessalian civic coinage of the fourth century BC. The goddess's features are rendered with careful detail in the die engraving. |

Philippopolis in Thessaly was a short-lived foundation, its coinage window narrow enough that the hemidrachm series is genuinely scarce in any condition. The BCD collection — assembled by the collector known only by that pseudonym — remains the definitive reference for Thessalian civic issues precisely because so many of these minor mints left almost no ancient literary trace, their existence reconstructed almost entirely from die studies and hoard evidence.
