Reverse description A rose viewed from above, rendered with three petals and a central button, occupying the center of the field — the civic emblem of Rhodes (whose name in Greek, Rhodos, signifies the rose). To the lower right, a thorny stem terminates in a visible bud. In the lower left field, the magistrate's initial Δ (Delta) appears above the ethnic abbreviation ΡΟ (rho-omicron), identifying the issuing city. The composition is well-centered and characteristic of the standard Rhodian fractional coinage of the early Hellenistic period.
