Obverse description Forepart of a lion advancing to right, head turned back to left in characteristic Chersonesian style, with open jaws and lolling tongue rendered in fine relief. The mane is elaborately detailed with layered, flowing locks radiating around the face and neck. The musculature of the chest and forelegs is rendered with confident die-cutting, conveying both power and dynamism. The design fills the flan with the leonine protome occupying the entire field, consistent with the standardized coinage type of Cherronesos throughout the Classical period.

Reverse description Quadripartite incuse square divided into four quarters, alternating between raised (in relief) and sunken (incuse) sections in diagonally opposite pairs, a hallmark of Chersonesian hemidrachm coinage. Within one of the recessed quarters, a small amphora is depicted as a control symbol. In an adjacent sunken quarter, a pellet appears beside a monogram composed of the letters AΓ, serving as a further control mark to identify the issuing magistrate or officina. The remaining two quarters are left plain in relief. The overall design is crisp and precisely executed, reflecting the long-standing and consistent civic coinage tradition of Cherronesos in Thrace.
