| Obverse description | Bare head of Artemis Dictynna facing right, rendered in archaic Cretan style with finely engraved hair swept back and secured, with loose strands falling at the nape of the neck. The portrait is boldly modelled in high relief, occupying most of the flan, with the facial features displaying a serene, idealized expression typical of early Hellenistic coinage from western Crete. No legend or inscription appears in the field. |
