Reverse description Head of the nymph Rhodos facing right, wearing a stephane and an earring, her hair elaborately arranged, set within a shallow incuse square. The Greek letter Ρ (rho) appears to the left of the head and Ο (omicron) to the right, together forming the ethnic abbreviation for Rhodes. The incuse square has slightly irregular, beveled edges characteristic of early hammered coinage. The modeling of the head is competent and consistent with the Chian-Rhodian artistic tradition of the early fourth century BC.
