| Reverse description | A prominent double-axe (labrys), the civic badge of Tenedos, depicted upright with a central handle and symmetrical splayed blades, occupying the centre of a recessed incuse square. The ethnic inscription is divided by the handle of the labrys, with two letters placed to the left and two to the right within the lower half of the incuse field, reading TENE as the abbreviated ethnic of Tenedos. The incuse square has sharply defined borders and a granular surface typical of early Archaic Greek coinage from the Troad. |
