Reverse description Facing gorgoneion depicted full face and centered on the flan, rendered in bold archaic style with wide staring eyes, a broad flat nose, and an open grimacing mouth with protruding tongue. Coiling serpents flank the head on either side, their bodies visible at the lower left and right of the field. The hair is rendered in wavy locks radiating from the crown. The image fills the entire flan, occupying nearly the full diameter of the coin in the tradition of Parion's distinctive reverse type.
