Obverse description Bull standing left in the field, head turned back to the right in a characteristic retrograde pose; a branch is depicted below the bull, while the figure of Athena Promachos, armed with shield and raised spear, appears above. The design reflects the distinctive Mysian style of the mid-fourth century BC, combining bovine and divine iconographic elements within the compact flan. The Greek ethnic inscription ΠΑΡΙ appears in the field, identifying the issuing city of Parion.

Reverse description Facing Gorgoneion of archaic type rendered with bold, deeply cut features, displaying wide staring eyes with pellet pupils, a broad flat nose, and an open mouth with protruding tongue and prominent tusks. The head is framed by a writhing mass of snakes arranged in a circular border around the periphery of the flan, their bodies intertwined to form a continuous ring. The treatment of the Gorgon's hair and the surrounding serpents is characteristic of the skilled die-cutting tradition at Parion during the late Classical period.
