| 裏面の説明 | Draped bust of Demeter, her head assimilated to the portrait features of Crispina, facing right; she holds in her hand a poppy and two stalks of wheat, emblematic of her role as goddess of the harvest and fertility. The reverse legend ΕΛΑΙΤΩΝ, identifying the civic authority of Elaea in Aeolis, is inscribed in Greek characters within the field. The iconographic assimilation of Crispina to Demeter reflects a common Antonine provincial practice of honoring the imperial consort through divine identification. |

Elaea was a minor Aeolian port city that had long since passed its commercial peak by the Commodan period, functioning largely as a satellite of nearby Pergamon. Its civic bronze issues were struck infrequently, and the surviving population of this particular type is thin enough that die studies remain incomplete. The BMC and SNG Copenhagen specimens cited in the references are among the handful used to anchor attribution for the series.
